Athens Art Tour 2027: From Greek Antiquity to Contemporary Expression

Discover Athens, experience the evolution of Western Art, as a living classroom where philosophy, history, and art converge. Together, we will walk and travel by bus through the city’s legendary streets to trace the evolution of Western thought— from the ideals of Greek Antiquity to the bold realism of Contemporary Art, with a glimpse into Byzantine Art. You will exit museums and archaeological sites saying: “Ah, now I understand why.”

In the Agora, we will stand where Plato, Aristotle, and Epicurus laid the intellectual foundations of Western thought. Were you meant to be an Epicurean or a Stoic? How did the teachings of Apollonius of Tyana and other great thinkers shape not only philosophy, but also the development of love, art, beauty, and human representation through the centuries?

Our evenings will unfold in the historic neighborhood of Plaka, where Greek gastronomy and conversation are part of the journey itself. Inspired by “Socrates’s Method”, we will question, debate, and reflect together on justice, virtue, beauty, and truth — not as abstract ideas, but as living questions that continue to shape our world and our artistic imagination.

Explore Istanbul Through Art, History, and Culture in 2027

Now, we have landed in Turkey. No time to lose in a train! Let’s discover, explore and experience Istanbul’s artistic legacy from Byzantium to Contemporary Art. Istanbul! city unlike any other in the world, where art and architecture is truly a journey across civilizations. As a group, let experience the extraordinary cultural dialogue that continues to shape Istanbul’s identity.

From the moment we arrive to our hotel, we will enter a world transformed by the Ottoman conquest of 1453, where the legacy of Greek Byzantine Art gradually gives way to the refinement of Islamic Art ¾ where East and West met through art.  We will be travelling through ancient Constantinople (Istanbul’s old name) by funicular, ferry, and, of course, on foot.

Together, we will encounter some of the most breathtaking artistic and architectural achievements in history: Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Blue Mosque. Along the way, we will discover hidden courtyards, ancient cisterns, bustling bazaars, and the everyday buzzing of the old Istanbul’s streets. “Have you tried the famous grilled mackerel sandwich by the Bosphorus, an Istanbul classic?” Did you know that Turkish’s gastronomy belongs to the top 5 in the world ?

Our journey culminates with the 19th Istanbul Biennial, where we will turn our attention to Contemporary Art. Seen in the context of Istanbul’s thick and deep historical layers, the Biennial becomes more than an exhibition — it becomes a living conversation between past and present, East and West, tradition and innovation.
